About
The Jan Karski Institute of War Losses is a state institution established by the Order of the Prime Minister of 2 December 2021 on the establishment of the Jan Karski Institute of War Losses.
The Institute focuses its activities on scientific research and development work in the social sciences and humanities in the field of war losses inflicted on the Polish State and its citizens during World War II (1939-1945) and the long-term consequences of that conflict. We coordinate scientific research on and carry out activities to teach others about the above-mentioned issues.
We trust that the connected, related work carried out by the group of specialists active within our organisation will prove helpful in the process of obtaining appropriate reparation and compensation for all the harm and war damage that has occurred. At the same time, the essential point of reference for us is "The Report on the Losses Sustained by Poland as a Result of German Aggression and Occupation during the Second World War, 1939-1945" that was published on 1 September 2022.
Legal basis: Order No. 321 of the Prime Minister of 2 December 2021 on the establishment of the Jan Karski Institute for War Losses M.P. 2021 item 1126.
